I went to the top of Germany!

Zugspitze Zugspitze

Two cable cars are going to the top from the valley, one from Germany and one from Austria. There is also a rack railway that goes to the glacier from where it is possible to take another cable car to the top.

Zugspitze

Il faisait environ 15°C dans la vallée. Mais au sommet, la température change complètement. On est à presque 3 000m. Presque car le Zugspitze culmine à 2 962m ! L'air est frais et sec.

It was about 15°C in the valley. But at the top, temperature changed completely. It is nearly at 3,000m. Nearly, because the Zugspitze tops at 2 962m! The air is fresh and dry.

The weather was clear and it was possible to see the Alps, from the Tyrol to Switzerland, as well as the Italian Alps!

Zugspitze Zugspitze

I stopped at the highest Biergarten in Germany to drink… a warm tea and eat an Apfelstrudel.

Zugspitze

From the top, it is possible to see lake Starnberg as well as Munich, which is about 100 km away.

München from the Zugspitze Zugspitze
